Experience the enchanting beauty of Swan Lake, a timeless tale of love, betrayal, and transformation, set to Tchaikovsky's unforgettable score. This adaptation, with choreography inspired by the 1895 revision of Marius Petipa and Lev Ivanov, follows Prince Siegfried's journey as he meets Odette, a beautiful maiden who reveals that she and her companions are cursed by the sorcerer Rothbart to live as swans. As the story unfolds, Prince Siegfried is deceived by Rothbart's dark magic, leading to a heartbreaking betrayal. Under Rothbart's influence, Siegfried is tricked into pledging his love to Odile, thinking he is declaring his commitment to Odette. Filled with guilt, the prince races to make things right and save Odette. In our reimagined conclusion, the power of true love breaks the curse, freeing Odette and transforming the swans back into their human form forever.
This production of Swan Lake is made possible by the families, students, and the entire community that supports the dance education at Princeton Ballet School.
