A Tour de Force Performance
Herringbone
Starring BD Wong

Book by
Tom Cone, Music by Skip Kennon, Lyrics by Ellen Fitzhugh
Directed by Roger Rees

A ghost story with a vaudeville twist.  A musical with a dash of murder.  A one-man tour de force. When 8-year-old George discovers his gift for tap-dancing, everyone wants a piece of him.  As the adults around him exploit his talents, George finds himself in a profound supernatural struggle for control over body and soul.  Playing all 11 characters in this song-and-dance tale, virtuoso BD Wong gives a once-in-a-lifetime performance. With witty lyrics and a tuneful score, this quirky musical is sure to surprise and beguile, even as it sends chills up your spine.

BD Wong is the only actor ever to receive all five major New York theater awards  (including the Tony Award for Best Featured Actor) for a single role: Song Liling in M. Butterfly.  He currently stars in TV’s Law and Order: SVU, and has appeared on Broadway in Pacific Overtures and You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown.  He can be seen on screen in Oz, Jurassic Park, The Freshman, Father of the Bride, and Seven Years in Tibet.

Contains adult situations and themes.

Dear Friends and Patrons,

I am simply delighted to announce that virtuoso performer BD Wong will open our 2008-2009 season in a breathtaking performance of Herringbone.  Written by Tom Cone, Skip Kennon and Ellen Fitzhugh, Herringbone is a chilling and charming musical ghost story in which an 8-year-old tap dancer becomes possessed by the vengeful spirit of a jaded song-and-dance man.
