When Russian pianist Kirill Gerstein made his McCarter debut in 2012, his triumph that evening earned him a standing ovation and an invitation to return (which he did in 2014). His rapid ascent into classical music’s highest ranks have included both the coveted Gilmore Artist Award and First Prize in the Rubinstein Piano Competition, plus engagements with virtually every major orchestra on the planet.
