The Parking Deck at the Princeton Theological Seminary campus will be closed temporarily due to a construction project. The surface lot at the Seminary will remain open. Please be aware of the alternative parking options listed below and on the map.
Parking Advisory for June 1-2, 2013
This weekend is Reunions weekend in Princeton, parking will be in demand and traffic in and around town will be heavier than usual. Please plan accordingly to allow enough time to get to your show.
Ample FREE parking is available at the indoor parking garage located on Elm Drive off of Faculty Road on the Princeton University campus, a five-minute walk to McCarter.
Please note that Valet parking will not be offered for Princeton’s Famous Triangle Show performances this weekend.
Alexander Street detour to begin June 6
Starting on Thursday, June 6, Alexander Street will be closed to thru traffic from College Road to University Place. This closure is expected to remain in place until the end of July.
A detour route for vehicular traffic will be in place for the duration of the closure. A temporary traffic signal has been installed at the intersection of College Road and University Place that will be operational while the detour route is being used. This signal will go into "flash" mode beginning on Tuesday, May 28th; it will begin normal operation on Thursday, June 6th.

Enter the campus at the Faculty Road circle and proceed to the next traffic circle and turn left. From here follow signs to the indoor parking garage–the entrance will be on your right.
McCarter Theatre Center is easily accessible by car via U.S. Route 1, Interstate 95/295 and NJ Route 206. Or take the train to McCarter’s back door: both Amtrak & New Jersey Transit serve Princeton Junction via the Northeast Corridor Line. Then it’s a ride of four minutes on New Jersey Transit’s “Dinky” train to Princeton Station–McCarter is directly across the street at 91 University Place.
From New York City (or NJ Turnpike southbound)
Take the NJ Turnpike south to Exit 9. Use a right-hand tollbooth. Take a sharp right after tollbooth (to"New Brunswick, Route 18"). Get onto Route 18; after a few seconds, follow the road as it bears left, then immediately get into the right- hand lane as the road curves to the right. Exit to the right where the sign says "U.S. 1 South to Trenton." After about 18 miles on U.S. Route 1 south, follow directions from Route 1 below.
From NJ Turnpike Northbound
Take Exit 8 at Hightstown. Proceed into Hightstown to T in road; turn left in front of the big fire station. At the next light turn right onto Stockton (Route 571/Princeton Hightstown Road). Stay on 571 West for about 8 miles until reaching a major highway, Route 1. Get on Route 1 South by going left around traffic circle. Proceed to take first exit off of Route 1 South onto Alexander Road. Make a right onto Alexander, (heading West, towards Princeton). At the fourth light turn right onto University Place. McCarter is on the left.
From Route 1
Take Alexander Road exit and head West, towards Princeton. (Traveling South on Route 1, turn right onto Alexander, traveling North, exit on the right and make a left at the light at the end of the off ramp.) At the fourth light, turn right onto University Place. You will see the Princeton Train Station on the right. McCarter is on the left.
From Route 27 (Nassau Street)
Going south into Princeton proper, the first light is Washington Road, the second light is Witherspoon, and the third light is University Place. Make a left on University Place. McCarter is about three blocks down on the right.
From Route 206
Go to the intersection of 206 and Route 27 (Nassau Street) and turn onto it. (Traveling southbound on 206 turn left, going north bear right.) Take an immediate right at the next light onto University Place. McCarter is about three blocks down on the right.
From PA
Take I-95 North. Get off at Exit 7B/Route 206 North to Nassau Street, Princeton. Follow the directions above for 206.
